Friday May 20, 2016 began as any other. I was still on bed rest, still using the portable potty, was still constantly prodded and continuously monitored. Per the normal one of the doctors from my doctor's office (Dr. V) stopped by to ensure that all was well. While conversing she began to share with me some things that was considered dangerous and if any should happen immediately contact a nurse. Not believing that anything was going to really happen ten minutes after she left I used the potty and out of curiosity I reached down in my vaginal area to feel for the cord that she described to me just a few minutes earlier. Well lo and behold there was something there. Scared I called for the nurse but no one came. A second time I called for the nurse and still no one arrived. A third time I called and finally she came. I explained to her that I believed that I felt the umbilical cord coming out. After barley checking she assured me nothing was wrong or there, she even went as far as to say that it was probably apart of my gown (as if I would not know the difference).
Still concerned I took solace in the fact that I was scheduled for an ultrasound. I felt if something was wrong surely the ultrasound tech would see it. Well needless to say she noticed nothing and if she did she chose to ignore it. I knew that I felt something but with no one to confirm it I was left concerned. For two hours I tried to ignore the troubling feeling that something was wrong until I could take it no more. I used the potty again touched down there again and it was even more cord hanging out. Immediately I called the nurse, when she arrived I told her my cord was coming out. She checked me then the next thing I knew it was total pandemonium. This big nurse jumped on my bed and said to me, "me and my finger is going to be with you until surgery" then she put some gloves on and proceeded to RAM her finger inside of me.
