Nothing brings me more joy than when I am in the kitchen early in the morning preparing breakfast for my daughter. It is in those moments that i feel that for once I am doing something right. In those moments I truly feel like a mother. Don't get me wrong in no way am I a Martha Stewart type nor would I ever be comparable to one. I see those moms that seem to have it all together and I admire them but I have no desire to try to be them.
Ha, I still struggle to make my bed in the morning, to straighten my bathroom, keep my closet organized, and put things back where they belong. So of course I am FAR from the token stay at home wife...that is probably why I am still single...lol! However there is something about cooking and the outdoors that soothes me. When I am in the kitchen cooking or sitting on my patio watching the trees sway from the gentle breeze that ever so gently graze several leaves at once or look upon the wild flowers that are oh so beautiful yet ever so terrible, I can see and believe that anything is possible.
Breakfast! The food of champions. This morning I made some pancakes from scratch that were comprised of Organic All purpose flour and Organic blue cornmeal (I ran out of flour so I used the cornmeal) despite the substitution they came out awesome. Also, I fried some bacon (yes it was pork, when it comes to bacon it's pig or nothing at all) and scrambled her an egg. If you would like the recipe let me know and I will post it on my next food post.
